Easy No Bake Cherry Cheesecake

Easy No Bake Cherry Cheesecake

Every year around this time our neighbors cherry tree blooms. The cherries are ripe and the most beautiful color red.

We always pick a bunch and make something yummy with them. I have previously shared how to make cherry pie filling, pull apart cherry pie and cherry pop tarts.

Today I am sharing a summer delight. No bake cherry cheesecake. It is perfect for those hot days so you do not have to turn the oven on. The cool and fresh taste is the ultimate treat on a summer day.

We used my homemade cherry pie filling but you can just use a can and it is just as good!

  • Pre made graham cracker crust
  • 4 cups of cherry pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbs vanilla extract

  • Mix cream cheese in blender until smooth.
  • Add vanilla, condensed milk and lemon juice and mix together.
  • Pour and spread cream cheese filling into pie crust spread evenly.
  • Top with cherry filling and refrigerate until cold.

Playhouse Makeover

Playhouse Makeover

A year ago, Dan was on his way home and found an old playhouse on the curb. If you know us you would know that we would never pass this up.

He brought it home and quickly put it together. Franco was happy and played a little in it but as the months went by, he stopped going into it.

A year later it has been untouched but for me, I wasn’t ready give it up.

I did some research online and found so many playhouse makeovers. I had to do it. Even if this was the last year Franco plays with it.

I wanted the playhouse makeover to reflect Franco and his love for superheroes. I decided to do one of his favorites, Batman.

The before..

I unassembled the house and gave it a good power wash, crazy how much gunk was on there!

Unassembled and power washed..

Spray paint..

I used Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Satin colors. This paint stayed on the plastic the best and great coverage. The only gods color I did was for the door because it was the yellow I was looking for. Honestly, it didn’t go on well. I had to do multiple coats and it was streaky. I waited about an hour in between to apply a second coat.

Little additions..

There were some things missing so I had to get creative with things I already had. I added these vintage draw knobs and spray painted them black for the door handle.

Make Batman emblems all over.

My Cricut Maker came in handy for this project and made a bunch of Batman emblems. It added the final touch on the house.

More emblems around the house.

There used to be a phone hanging on the wall but since we never had it I stuck a flashlight in the holder.

Top part of inside the house was painted with chalkboard spray paint.

Assemble and play!

Overall, I spent about $70 on spray paint and it was worth it! In my opinion this is better than any store bought playhouse design.

Here are the colors I got for the playhouse and materials I needed.

Easy Copycat KFC’s Famous Bowl

Easy Copycat KFC’s Famous Bowl

Start of the busy week calls for an easy night’s meal. I made these copycat KFC’s Famous Bowl and they did not disappoint.

It was actually my first time making them and couldn’t believe what I was missing out on.

The secret to the delicious bowls was how I made the chicken. I made double so we can have it throughout the week as well.

How to make the chicken cutlets:

  • 1 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast cutlets (we are a dark meat family so we did 2 lbs of boneless chicken thighs)
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs (add more if needed.)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese together in a bowl and set aside. In another bowl add mayonnaise.

Lightly grease baking pan and pound your chicken. Spread Mayo on one side of the chicken and dip chicken in breadcrumb mixture. Once fully coated spread repeat on the other side of the chicken.

Bake chicken for about 20-25 minutes.

Now that you have your chicken, he is the easy part.

KFC copycat Famous Bowl:

  • 1 package of instant mashed potatoes
  • 1 can sweet corn
  • 1 jar of chicken gravy
  • 1 bag of cheddar shredded cheese

Make mashed potatoes according to package directions and heat up both corn and gravy.

Add mashed potatoes first into your bowl. Cut up your chicken into large cubes and add on top of potatoes. Next add your corn and cheese and top with loads of gravy.
