Delicious Red Wine Hot Chocolate To Warm You Up!

I was looking for something warm while trick or treating this year but also needed something to keep up with the kids!

I decided to make this warm and delicious red wine hot chocolate on a whim and it was a hit!

The red wine mixed perfectly with silky chocolate and creamy milk. It stayed warm all day in the slow cooker and every taste was delectable. This will definitely be a hit all holiday season long!

The ingredients are easy and simple, here is what you need:

  • 6 cups of milk
  • 1 bag of semi chocolate chocolate chips
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon or 2 sprays of Spray Gourmet cinnamon.

Mix all the ingredients into slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour. Stir in between to keep the chocolate chips mixed evenly and not sink to the bottom.

Keep on low setting throughout the day.

This is optional but top with large marshmallows or whipped cream for and extra creamy drink!

By now I am assuming you have gone apple picking if you have apple orchards by you. If you have not or unable to, put on some cozy sweaters and head to your local supermarket to get some apples!

Today I am sharing this delicious homemade apple bread with my favorite ingredient- cream cheese filling.

I’ve contemplated on just making the cream cheese filling and add some diced apples in it (I still may consider it..) but what’s better than a piece of delicious apple bread with a cup of coffee to start your morning?

Apple Bread Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cake batter extract (or vanilla)
  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced

Cream Cheese Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 1/2 tsp cake batter extract (or vanilla)

Directions

  • Preheat over to 350 degrees and grease standard loaf pan.
  • Mix together all ingredients for cream cheese filling. Put in a bowl and put to the side.
  • In mixer, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and sugar.
  • Add milk, oil and eggs to mixture.
  • Slowly add diced apples while mixing.
  • Pour half of batter in loaf pan.
  • Pour and spread cream cheese mixture on top of the batter.
  • Pour the rest of the apple batter over the cream cheese mixture.
  • Depending on your oven, bake for about 60 minutes. It may need to take longer so be sure to check.
  • Let is cool and enjoy!

To make the whipped cream, use an electric mixer or emulsion blender to whisk together heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Pour hot chocolate into mug and and top with whipped cream. Add toppings of your choice and enjoy!

Instructions:

  • Mix all ingredients together using a mixer until fluffy.
  • Make dollops on parchment paper using a Cake Decorating Tool and place in freezer for about an hour.
  • Add dollops in an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
  • You can also fill a mason jar with the butter and keep in the refrigerator as well.

During our stay in the Adirondacks last week, we discovered that our AirBnB had blueberry picking on their farm.

Our hosts invited us to pick blueberries since no one else was going to and they were literally ready to burst!

I love eating blueberries on their own, but one of my favorite combinations is blueberry and lemon. Who doesn’t love that combo in the summer?

I couldn’t wait to go home and and make lemon blueberry waffles. The ingredients are simple and I knew I had everything on hand.

These blueberry lemon pancakes provide a delicious balance of tart and sweetness with a burst of blueberry flavor. The decadent lemon glaze adds the perfect touch to a mouthful of blueberries!

Ingredients for the Waffles

  • Pancake mix (any ingredients the pancake mix call for)
  • 3 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cake batter extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Ingredients for the Lemon Glaze Syrup

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbs milk
  • 1 tbs lemon juice

Directions

  1. Prepare pancake mix according to box directions.
  2. Once fully mixed, add lemon juice and cake batter extract.
  3. Slowly fold in blueberries and mix.
  4. Heat waffle iron to 375 degrees F and cook waffles.
  5. In a small bowl mix powdered sugar, milk and lemon juice.
  6. Stir until fully smooth.
  7. Once waffles are made, drizzle lemon glaze over them and top with fresh blueberries.

This simple yet refreshing summer great is a crowd pleaser of all ages! With the sophistication of spice and playfulness of the popsicle stick, these chili lime watermelon pops are sure to be a hit at your next BBQ gathering.

This combination is simple, yet fierce. It first gives you a salt and spice and the then sweetness of the watermelon to complete your flavor buds needs.

Ingredients are simple:

Slice whole watermelon into circles and then cut into quarter pieces.

Using popsicle sticks, insert them into the rinds of the watermelon.

I got this 100 piece pack at Dollar Tree in the craft section!

Squirt some lime juice, then spray chili liquid 1-2 times on each watermelon slice. Each spray is equivalent to ¼ tsp.

Liquid spice is a great alternative to dry spices. The controlled spray application eliminates the work, the mess, and the guessing of measurements.

Sprinkle each slice with some salt and smoked paprika.

Eat right away or place in refrigerator until ready to serve.
